Uniform Project Comments

“The tracksuits made such a difference to the learners to the learners who come from a social disadvantaged background! Such learners realize there are still people in the community, in South Africa and in the USA who care!
The beneficiary learners were motivated to attend school.”

“The choir gowns made the choir members to feel proud. These gowns have a multi-purpose contribution: They are used for award ceremonies; for the graduation of academic and cultural top achievers at prize-giving ceremonies. The regalia of the learners then match those of the teachers (the teachers wear academic gowns!). The learners feel so proud!”

- Edwina Makgoma, the principal of Patrick Mashego Primary School

“Without the gowns the choir achieved 3rd position at the choir competition earlier this year. With these beautiful gowns our choir will grab the first position in future!”

- Jane Mthinyane, choir teacher

“Thanks you for the skills I could gather through the school uniform project. It is so fulfilling that I can share these skills with other less privileged women! I have my own business now and I am the director of my own future! Viva PPF!”

- Sarah Moseki, trainer, seamster and business women

The skills I gained through the school uniform project enabled me to tender for other contracts of the Department of Social Development. I could by my own machines. Once my baby falls asleep at night, I can produce garments on order. I can really make a personal contribution to the family income!”

- Oniccah Time, seamster

“ I could see how my children’s friends, who received PPF school uniforms at Kid Maponya Primary School, grew in stature. They suddenly had a sense of belonging!”

- Kerileng Meloi, parent who could afford her own child’s school uniform
