US Youth for South Africa

US Youth for South Africa builds bridges between youth in the US and South Africa.

US Youth for South Africa

Promoting community service is a long-standing PPF tradition. Since 1995, PPF has mobilized over 850 middle school, high school, and college students nationwide to get informed, get involved and make a change. Students have organized galas, bake sales, pen-pal projects, made dolls for the Black Doll Project, donated computers for township children, and devised their own creative projects to help their peers.

Community Service Projects

Students receive coaching on how to launch their own philanthropic projects in South Africa and learn about issues facing South African women and children. Their involvement provides an opportunity to:

  • Experience the joy of volunteer service
  • Increase self-esteem and leadership skills
  • Learn project management and fundraising skills
  • Make new friends in both the U.S. and South Africa

Internship Program

High school and college students are also eligible for internships at the PPF office in New York City where they gain skills in research, marketing, communications, and international development.
