Who We Are

Project People Foundation (PPF), a US-based non-profit organization, empowers low-income South African women and youth with opportunities to attain a quality education, create a sustainable livelihood, and achieve financial independence.

Goals

  • Generate resources for programs that increase the school and college matriculation rates, employment rates, and business ownership rates of South African youth and women.
  • Heighten the awareness and sensitivity of US youth and adults on key socio-economic issues in South Africa.
  • Counter the isolation of target communities in South Africa by linking them to local, national and international partners
  • Restore hope, raise self-esteem and promote self-sufficiency in target South African communities.
Why South Africa

A Decade Of Commitment to South Africa

Project People Foundation launched its economic and humanitarian programs in 1995 with the goal of making a lasting difference in the lives of South African children and women who faced the bitter legacy of apartheid. For the children it was the gift of black dolls --- for their mothers it was the gift of work. From these initial projects, PPF has grown to encompass programs and partnerships that continue to make a positive difference in promoting economic empowerment for women in South African townships and facilitating access to education for black South African children.
